Privacy Policy
Something New Labs, Inc. ("Internet Court," "we," "us") provides a place for people to settle disagreements in front of a community jury ("Services"). Juries only work if jurors can see the case, so cases on Internet Court are visible to other users. This policy explains what we collect, who can see it, and how we use it. We do not sell your personal data.
Information you provide
Account Information. You register a phone number when you create an account. We use it to sign you in, to deliver cases to you, and to let people you know find you. You also add a name, a username, and optionally a profile photo, which other users can see.
Cases. When you file or respond to a case, we store what you submit: your claim, messages, photos, voice memos, and their transcripts. Cases, including their messages and evidence, are visible to other signed-in users, including jurors you don't know. Anyone who opens a case link sees a short preview, such as the parties' names and the claim.
Votes and Activity. We store the votes you cast as a juror, your reactions, your Votes balance, and reports you file about cases or messages.
Contacts. You can optionally let Internet Court check which people in your address book already use it. The phone numbers in your contacts are sent to our servers to look for matching accounts. We don't store them. If you file a case against someone who isn't on Internet Court yet, we store that person's phone number so the case reaches them when they join.
Voice Memos. Voice memos are transcribed on your device when your iPhone supports it. Otherwise, Apple's speech recognition service may process the audio under Apple's privacy policy.
User Support. If you contact us, we use what you send only to look into your request and respond to you.
Managing Your Information. You can update your profile in the app at any time, and you can turn off contacts, camera, microphone, and notification access in your iPhone's Settings.
Information we collect automatically
Technical Information. We store a push notification token for your device so we can tell you about summons, messages, and verdicts. Our hosting providers keep basic logs, such as IP addresses, request times, and errors, to operate and secure our Services. We don't use advertising trackers.
Information we may share
Other Users. Your profile and the cases you take part in are shared with other users as described above.
Third Parties. We work with third parties to provide our Services: Supabase stores our data and handles sign-in, an SMS provider sends your verification codes, Apple delivers push notifications, and Vercel hosts our website. These providers handle your information only to provide services to us.
AI Provider. To generate the AI judge's analysis, we send case text, transcripts, and photo evidence to Anthropic.
Other instances where we may share your data.
- To comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable government request.
- To enforce our Terms, including investigating potential violations.
- To detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Internet Court, our users, or the public, as required or permitted by law.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account by emailing feedback@internetcourt.dev. We will delete your account information. Case records that involve other people may be kept in de-identified form, and we may keep some information where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. Email us and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Children
Our Services are not for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children, and we will delete it if we learn we have.
Updates
We will update this policy as needed to keep it current, accurate, and clear. When we do, we will update the date below and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use our Services means you accept the updated policy.
Terms
Please also read our Terms of Service, which also govern this Privacy Policy.
