Internet Court

Terms of Service

Something New Labs, Inc. ("Internet Court," "we," "us") builds Internet Court, a place where people settle disagreements in front of a community jury. By installing or using our apps, services, or website (together, "Services"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms").

About our services

Not a Court of Law. Internet Court is not a court, an arbitration service, or a law firm. Verdicts reflect the views of other users and of an AI model. They are not legally binding, are not legal advice, and cannot be enforced against anyone. If you need legal help, consult a lawyer.

Minimum Age. You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services.

Account Registration. You create an account with your phone number. You agree to receive text messages with verification codes from us or our third-party providers so you can sign in.

Privacy of User Data. We do not sell your personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. To operate our Services, you agree to the data practices it describes, including the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Software. We may release updates to add features or fix problems, and you agree to receive them.

Fees and Taxes. You are responsible for any carrier, data, or other fees and taxes associated with the devices you use to access our Services.

Votes. Votes are an in-app currency used inside our Services. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or redeemed for money, and are not your property. We may change or reset Votes balances at any time.

Using Internet Court

Our Terms and Policies. You must use our Services in line with these Terms and any policies we post. If we disable your account for breaking them, you may not create a new account without our permission.

Legal and Acceptable Use. You may use our Services only for lawful, authorized, and acceptable purposes. You will not use, or help anyone else use, our Services to: (a) harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone, or file cases in bad faith; (b) share anyone's private information, such as home addresses, financial details, or intimate images, without their consent; (c) submit fabricated or manipulated evidence, including AI-generated media presented as real; (d) post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually exploits minors, or promotes violence or self-harm; (e) violate the rights of others, including privacy, publicity, and intellectual property rights; or (f) manipulate juries or votes, including by using multiple accounts.

Harm to Internet Court. You must not access, use, copy, modify, or exploit our Services in unauthorized ways or in ways that harm us, our users, or our systems. For example, you must not (a) gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our Services or systems; (b) disrupt their integrity or performance; (c) create accounts by automated or unauthorized means; (d) scrape or collect information about our users without authorization; or (e) sell, rent, or charge for access to our Services.

Cases Are Public to the Community. Cases, including messages and evidence, are visible to other users, and jurors are drawn from the community. Do not submit anything you are not comfortable having strangers read.

AI Judgments. Our Services use an AI model to review cases and offer an analysis. AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Treat it as one opinion, not a finding of fact.

Keeping Your Account Secure. You are responsible for keeping your device and your account secure, and for activity that happens under your account.

No Access to Emergency Services. Our Services are not a way to reach the police, courts, or any other public authority. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Third-Party Services. Our Services may link to or work with third-party websites, apps, and services. Their own terms and privacy policies govern your use of them.

Your rights and license with Internet Court

Your Rights. You own the content you submit through our Services. You must have the right to use the phone number you register with, and the right to share any content you submit.

Your License to Us. To run our Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, and process your content. This includes showing it to jurors and other users and sending it to our service providers, such as our AI provider. This license ends when your content is deleted from our Services, except for copies others have already seen or that we must keep by law.

Our Rights. We own all copyrights, trademarks, domains, logos, trade dress, trade secrets, patents, and other intellectual property associated with our Services. You may not use them without our written permission. To report intellectual property infringement, contact feedback@internetcourt.dev.

Our License to You. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our Services in accordance with these Terms.

Disclaimers and limitations

Disclaimers. You use our Services at your own risk. We provide them "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that our Services, any verdict, or any AI output will be accurate, complete, reliable, secure, or available without interruption. We are not responsible for the content or conduct of our users or of any third party. You release Something New Labs, Inc. and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents (together, the "Internet Court Parties") from any claim or damages, known or unknown, arising from any dispute you have with another user or third party.

Limitation of Liability. The Internet Court Parties will not be liable to you for any lost profits or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so some may not apply to you; in that case, our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.

Indemnification. You agree to defend and indemnify the Internet Court Parties against any claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content, your use of our Services, or your breach of these Terms.

Availability of Our Services. Our Services may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or failures. We may change or discontinue any part of our Services, including features and support for certain devices, at any time.

Resolving disputes and ending terms

Resolving Disputes. You agree that any claim you have against us arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [STATE, COUNTY], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. The laws of the State of [STATE] govern these Terms and any dispute between you and us, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Ending These Terms. You may end these Terms at any time by deleting your account and no longer using our Services. We may modify, suspend, or end your access to our Services at any time for any reason, including if you violate these Terms or create harm, risk, or legal exposure for us or our users. The sections on licenses, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, resolving disputes, and ending these Terms, and the General section, survive termination.

General

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date below and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use our Services means you accept the updated Terms. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding our Services. You will comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws.

If we do not enforce part of these Terms, we have not waived our right to enforce it later. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be severed and the rest will remain in effect. We may limit our Services in any country. Questions about these Terms can be sent to feedback@internetcourt.dev.
